What is Mudjacking?
Mudjacking, also called slabjacking or concrete lifting, is an effective technique used to fix settled concrete slabs to eliminate the need for complete replacement.During mudjacking, mud is pumped under a sunken concrete surface to lift it. The mud is pushed through holes made near the concrete surface using a hydraulic pump. VDC drills the holes with an industry leading 1″ diameter.
The mud used for the process is a premium product and is pumped through a hose into the holes drilled near the settled concrete’s surface. The pumped slurry raises the surface of the slab and fills the voids and vacant spaces underneath the structure, which then hardens to provide solid support. Why Should You Choose Mudjacking at Your Home or Business?
- Mudjacking is less expensive compared to replacing the whole concrete surface
- The process is environmentally friendly as the mud used is a slurry mix of water, soil, and cement
- Mudjacking is a quick process that is completed within a few hours
- The process does not demand any heavy equipment or a large crew
How Can Mudjacking Improve My Property’s Curb Appeal and Overall Safety?
- Uneven concrete surfaces like driveways, patios and walkways will once again be smooth
- Tripping hazards will be eliminated
- The life of your concrete surfaces will be prolonged by avoiding further cracking and movement from things like winter freeze/thaw
